Helping children and young people know Jesus.

We want kids and youth to be welcomed, cared for and taught the good news of Jesus in a way that is clear, safe and age-appropriate.

Children on Sundays

KidZone is our program for primary school children (Prep - year 6) that aims to help them hear God’s word in a way that is clear and engaging for their age and stage of life. KidZone runs during our Sunday morning services in school terms.

Children join their parents for the start of the service for a time of worship and prayer before they are encouraged down the front for our Kids Talk. Following the Kids Talk, children are invited to join us for the KidZone program in the hall. We spend time together before breaking into small groups where our leaders plan a variety of activities, games, and discussions expanding on the Kids Talk. A creche program also runs during the school term for children aged 2 years to pre-Prep.

We take child safety very seriously and all of our leaders have a Working With Children Blue Card and undergo the PresSafe training and approval process maintained by the Presbyterian Church of Queensland.

Youth at CPC

Youth at CPC is our program to help highschoolers (year 7-12) hear, live, and share God’s word. Youth meet each Friday evening during the school term from 6:45-8:45pm at the church. The focus of the night is discipleship and helping teenagers to grow in their faith in a relaxed, relational and relevant program.

A typical youth night starts with time to hang out over informal activities (e.g. table tennis, board games, handball, and craft) before whole group time. We then have supper together before breaking into our small group Bible Study time. There is a cost of $2 each to go towards supper. Please refer to our term calendar for any changes to our typical program.

As well as our Friday night program at the church, we have a few social activities throughout the year and we are involved in a number of youth camps with other youth groups across North Queensland.

As with KidZone, our youth program is run by a team of volunteers who hold Working With Children blue cards and have been through our Pressafe training and approval process.

Ask about youth

Safe ministry matters.

Children and young people should be safe and well cared for at church. Our leaders and volunteers serve under the safe ministry requirements of the Presbyterian Church of Queensland.
